We first became interested in Black Russian Terriers (BRTs) in 2007 when we were researching lower allergy dogs that are large and intelligent. Since BRTs are rare where we live in Alberta, Canada, it took us a while longer to meet one. Once we did it was love at first sight. We were taken by their self confidence, intelligence and keen interest in the people around them. With the assistance of longtime Black Russian Terrier breeder Anna Zamotina, we began our quest.
Today my wife and I have two lovely Russian import BRT's. It is a joy to live with such calm, steadfast companions at our sides. After much careful planning and deliberation we are embarking on a breeding program with the guidance of mentor, and friend Anna Zamotina. Anna, who speaks Russian, selected our foundation bitch Sasha (Ch. Sibirski Medved Chernaya Koroleva) from deep in Siberia. In the spring our plan is to breed Sasha to the Vladisvostok born and impressive, Lajosh (Yukko Lajosh S Bosfora Vostochnogo).
